Precise brewing temperature is the key
Each Nespresso machine contains the technologically advanced patented extraction and brewing system, which controls all of the required elements necessary to produce the perfect coffee. The water temperature and its circulation through the coffee grounds are measured with precision.
When the machine, each with 19-bar pressure pump, achieves the perfect temperature and the capsule is placed in the designated spot, a simple push of a button is all that is needed to signal the start of the process.
Exact dosage of perfectly ground coffee
The coffee capsule – each perfectly encapsulating hundreds of delicate aromas and volatile flavors (approx. 900 of them!) – is at the heart of every Nespresso coffee maker.
With the Nespresso system, the coffee capsule always provides exquisite quality, with the exact dosage of perfectly ground coffee to precisely fit the blend of the coffee variety used. Before the capsule is gently opened by the system, the foil that seals it serves as a membrane to lock in flavor and freshness of the perfectly ground and roasted portioned coffee.
Rich flavors with thick smooth Crema
After the seal is opened, the technology releases the subtle aromas, rich flavors and frothy, exceptionally thick and smooth hazel-colored crema. The result is a pure coffee pleasure, every single time and no hassle as the machines only need a minimum of cleaning.

Nespresso Sustainable Program
The AAA Sustainable Quality Program was launched in 2003 in partnership with the Rain Forrest Alliance. This scheme is designed to guarantee high quality coffees while raising the living standards of producers and respecting bio-diversity.
Ecolaboration is the future
Today almost half the coffees used come from this program and the aim of Nespresso is to reach 80% by 2013.
In 2009, they went a step further creating the Ecolaboration scheme which will put in place various projects targeting the 3 cornerstones of the Nespresso system; the coffee (with expansion of the AAA program), the capsule (extension of recycling) and the machines (more eco-friendly functions).
