New Coffee Generation Won’t Put the Kettle On

Published on Jan 07, 2011

It seems the younger generation in the workplace is turning its back on instant hot drinks in favour of americanos, cappuccinos and lattes, preferring to nip out for a brew rather than use the kettle in the office kitchen.

It’s a trend that comes as no surprise to us at LeCaféShop. This is a generation that is growing up in a coffee shop culture, meeting friends and even having business meetings over a cappuccino.

People are becoming increasingly accustomed to espresso strength drinks and this is leading to steady growth in sales of beans and ground coffee as many try to recreate the coffee shop experience in their own homes.

Research by Mintel in 2010 showed that although over 55s were still the biggest coffee drinkers and thought nothing of opening a jar of granules, just 39% of 25 to 34 year olds and 17% of 16 to 24 year olds drank coffee which they made at work.

Thankfully we’re fully prepared for this shift in the nation’s tastes at LeCaféShop and already have a wide range of coffee beans, ground coffees and wonderful gadgets to help you create that coffee shop taste at home or at work.

Take a look at our latest semi automatic bean to cup machine which is perfect for barista style drinks in the comfort of your own home or to impress visitors at the office.
